Shipping
At Marley Confections, we want our chocolates to arrive looking and tasting just as perfect as when they left our kitchen in Montecito, CA. That means careful timing, a little weather-watching, and extra attention in how we pack and ship your order.
Order Processing & Schedule
- Processing time: Most orders ship within 1–2 business days. During our busiest seasons – Christmas (November-December), Valentine’s Day (February), and Easter (March-April) – processing can take up to 3 business days.
- Cut-off time: Orders placed after 12 noon Pacific Time will begin processing the next business day.
- Shipping days: To ensure your packages don’t spend a lonely weekend in a warm shipping hub, we typically ship Monday through Wednesday only. Orders placed Thursday through Sunday usually ship the following Monday. We also pause shipments on major holidays.
Shipping Methods & Cost
- Flat-rate shipping is $15 to most continental U.S. addresses. While we aim for 2-day delivery, transit may take 1-4 days depending on your location.
- We ship with trusted carriers – UPS, FedEx, and USPS – and choose the one that gets your chocolates to you fastest for the rate.
Warm Weather Shipping
- During the warm summer months, or when temperatures hit 75°F or higher at your destination, we take extra steps to keep our chocolates safe. We may not ship to addresses that priority services can’t reach within 1 day, and we may include ice packs and insulated packaging for extra protection.
If you’re outside that 1-day range, please get in touch – we’ll work with you to find the best solution. Overnight shipping is possible but can be pricey.
Good news: non-chocolate treats (like our brittle) don’t mind the heat, so these aren’t affected by warm-weather limits. - In some cases, a warm-weather surcharge may apply.
- In the event of extreme heat, we may delay shipping for a few days. We’ll always let you know if this happens.
Address Accuracy & Where We Ship
- Please double-check that your shipping address is complete – including apartment/suite numbers – before placing your order.
- If an incorrect or incomplete address is provided and a package requires modification or rerouting after shipment, a $15 address correction fee.
- We can’t be responsible for packages lost due to incorrect or incomplete addresses.
- We ship only to street addresses within the continental U.S. and unfortunately can’t deliver to P.O. boxes or military addresses.
Tracking
You’ll receive a tracking number by email when your order ships. For the most up-to-date info, check directly with the carrier.
Receiving & Storing Your Chocolates
- If possible, have someone available to accept the delivery so your chocolates aren’t left outside in the heat or cold.
- Store chocolates in a cool, dry place – not the fridge – to maintain optimal taste and quality.
- For the best flavor, enjoy bonbons within 10 days of arrival. Other confections keep longer but are always best fresh.
Delays & Limitations
- Shipping Delays: Once your order leaves our hands, delays caused by weather, traffic, or carrier issues are out of our control.
- Service Guarantees: USPS, FedEx, and UPS have suspended many service guarantees, so estimated delivery dates are not guaranteed.
- No Liability for External Factors: We are not responsible for theft, damages, melted products, or delays once the order has left our facility due to factors beyond our control. We are also not liable for failed deliveries due to customer-provided incorrect/outdated addresses.
Returns & Refunds
Because our confections are perishable, we can’t accept returns. But we love happy customers – if we made a mistake or there is an obvious problem with our confections, please take a picture and contact us within 48hrs of delivery. We’ll be happy to replace your order or issue a refund.
